The Kingdom Message, One Gospel Message, Four Gospels
#Truth231 #BreadFromHeaven9 The Kingdom Message, One Gospel Message, Four Gospels
Matthew 4:17, 23, 24 (KJV) From that time JESUS began to preach and to say, REPENT: for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand. And JESUS went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. AndHIS FAME went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and HE HEALED THEM.
The KINGDOM GOSPEL IS IN THE GOSPELS [Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John]
The core content of the Kingdom Gospel, therefore, goes something like this:
• Jesus’ royal birth secured his claim to the ETERNAL THRONE promised to King David.
• Jesus’ miracles pointed to THE PRESENCE OF GOD'S KINGDOM the PERSON OF THE MESSIAH.
• Jesus’ teaching sounded THE INVITATION OF THE KINGDOM and laid down its demands.
• Jesus’ SACRIFICIAL DEATH ATONED for the SINS of those who would otherwise be condemned at THE CONSUMMATION OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
• Jesus’ RESURRECTION establishes HIM as THE SON whom GOD, ELOHIM has appointed JUDGE of the world and KING OF Kings and LORD of Lords of the coming kingdom.
“The [Four] Gospels and the Kingdom Gospel are one.” It is that last statement that will now take us into four versions, the (one) Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In fact, to call them “Gospels” as we now do so casually is to suggest that there was more than one gospel.
• The Gospels are all about Jesus.
• They are all about Jesus being the completion of Israel’s Story
• They are all about Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection, exaltation,
and future coming.
• They reveal that this Jesus, this Jesus in this very story, saves his people from their sin.
Hallelujah! Jesus Is the Kingdom Gospel
In Jesus' name, let's tell the complete story about our KING of Kings within the context of the Kingdom Gospel.
Jesus Christ was the personification of the message of the Kingdom. He was the Ruler, the King of the Kingdom. He was its representative, the One through whom humanity would be able to enter the Kingdom. His message was that people should repent, believe the good news that He brought and put that message into action, changing their lives to reflect their belief and commitment.
Amen.
